The calabar marathon race fourth edition is billed to start on Saturday 31st of october this year .
This was disclosed to media representatives in calabar by John Atsu managing director tourism bureau said the marathon race is categorized 21.1 km ,10 km and 5 km .
The tourism bureau managing director also hint those participating from age grade of sixteen “there is no age discrimination from 16 years and above “
Speaking on modes of selecting the race contestants Atsu further said “no restrictions on any body participating all what we are looking is who will represent cross river and at the national level “
Responding president calabar marathon tradition Charles E Ada also said the 2026 marathon race with the theme run for conscience against poverty is sketch to consolidate governor Bassey Edet Otu efforts in sporting activities .
“The marathon race prize winner male and female will get token of ine and half million naira while second will also get 700,000 those in third position would earn male and female 500,000 those that came third position will earn 300,000 “
According to Charles Ada president calabar marathon tradition Mtn NNPC and Globacom indicated their readiness to partner in the event .
Assured all participants and spectators would be given adequate security and ensure a hitch free marathon race
