The need to form national coffee and tea commission have been stressed Dr Hassan Usman Kakara president National Coffee and Tea Association of Nigeria has urge in an interview wirh our coreespondemt in calabar yesterday
Dr Usman Kakara said “ we coaco farmers and producers we are under ministry of Agriculture things have become cumnersome with the ministry that is why iam appealing to the federal governmemt to set up commission for xocoa and tea to allievitae the heavy load of Agriculture ministry “
The National coffee and tea association of Nigeria president further said “our reasins for wanting the commission set up is rive ,Yam are all subjects under the ministry “ Dr Kakara said
The Nacoftan president was in cross river to dialogue with cocoa farmers on the way forward on.coffee and Tea farming he stressed the needful of the commission if set up “ like how some countries set up the commission it begoves for Nigeria to emulate”
Stressing the important of coffee and tea the president Nacoftan maintain that “any country indulges itself on the farming it boost that country’'s economy rebustly it generate revenue mothern how petroleum generate revenue he cited an example with Brazil ,Columbia and Kenya coffee become their internal rebenue generated source “
Advised that if Nigeria want ganner rwvenue and alleviate the citizenry from hardship “let us focus on coffee and tea farming “Dr Kakara suggested
