The Emir of Yauri and Chancellor of Abdullahi Fodio University of Science and Technology Aliero, His Royal Highness Dr. Muhammad Zayyanu Abdullahi CON, has declared the support of Yauri Emirate for the second-term bid of Kebbi State Governor, Comrade Dr. Nasir Idris, describing the emirate as “indebted” to the administration for its developmental interventions across the area.
The Emir stated this on Wednesday when the Governor’s media aides, led by the Honourable Commissioner for Information and Culture, Alhaji Yakubu Ahmed BK, paid him a courtesy visit at his palace in Yauri.
His Royal Highness commended Governor Nasir Idris for what he described as remarkable achievements recorded across Yauri Emirate within the three years of the administration.
He highlighted several projects executed by the administration, including the construction of mega schools, road projects, renovation and reconstruction of healthcare centres, as well as interventions at general hospitals.
“I still have to mention areas like agriculture, where he supported our farmers with farm inputs. He also provided free fertiliser, water-pumping machines, seeds, among other agricultural support,” the Emir said.
The monarch expressed satisfaction with the development witnessed across Yauri Emirate under the Governor’s administration, popularly known as the Kaura Administration, noting that the government’s support for security agencies has contributed significantly to improving the security situation in the area.
According to him, the improved security environment has encouraged farmers to return to their farms, with rice farmers in the emirate now able to cultivate and harvest up to three times a year.
“With the coming of this administration, we are enjoying 24-hour security. The support given to security agencies in the state by the Governor has reduced our security challenges in the area. Now, our farmers have gone back to their farms,” he added.
The Emir further pledged his support for Governor Nasir Idris and expressed confidence in the administration’s continued commitment to the development of Yauri Emirate and Kebbi State at large.
Speaking earlier, the Honourable Commissioner for Information and Culture, Alhaji Yakubu Ahmed BK, thanked the monarch for his support and fatherly guidance to the administration.
He explained that the purpose of the visit was to seek the Emir’s royal blessing and strengthen the relationship between the traditional institution and the state government.
“We are here to seek the royal father’s blessing and to inform the general public about what Governor Nasir Idris has done for the people of Yauri Emirate and Kebbi State at large,” the Commissioner said.
The Commissioner also reaffirmed the administration’s commitment to transforming Kebbi State, noting that Governor Nasir Idris has changed the narrative through visible infrastructural and developmental projects across the state.
