The Managing Director of the Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA), Engr. Ahmed Umar Farouk, has described the Kebbi State Governor, Comrade Dr. Nasir Idris, Kauran Gwandu, as a “game changer” who has recorded unprecedented development across the state.
The NAMA Managing Director stated this when he received the Kebbi State Governor’s Media Aides on a courtesy visit in Abuja. The delegation was led by the Commissioner for Information and Culture, Alhaji Yakubu Ahmed Birnin Kebbi.
Engr. Farouk said Governor Idris had distinguished himself through humility, courage, visionary leadership and a clear development philosophy, adding that the Governor’s achievements had impacted positively on the lives of the people of Kebbi State.
According to him, “what we are witnessing today in Kebbi State is unprecedented,” noting that the Governor had performed exceptionally well in critical sectors, including agriculture, education, healthcare, security, roads and other infrastructure.
He particularly commended the Governor’s agricultural policies and interventions, including the provision of fertilisers, power tillers, improved seedlings and other incentives to farmers, describing the initiatives as significant contributions to food security and agricultural development.
The NAMA MD also praised the administration’s achievements in the education sector, especially the rehabilitation and construction of schools, payment of WAEC fees, provision of scholarships and other forms of educational support to students across the state.
He said the Governor’s sustained investments in security had contributed significantly to preventing Kebbi State from being overwhelmed by banditry and other criminal activities.
Engr. Farouk further noted that the administration’s road projects had improved connectivity between farming communities and major markets, thereby facilitating economic activities and enhancing the movement of agricultural produce across the state.
On why Governor Idris deserves the support of the people for a second term in office, the NAMA Managing Director said the Governor had transformed Kebbi State to a new level and had earned the love and admiration of the people through his people-oriented policies and development initiatives.
“We can’t actually find any other better person at the moment,” he said, urging the people of Kebbi State to remain focused, vigilant and supportive of the Governor’s administration.
The NAMA Managing Director further commended Governor Idris for his respect for traditional institutions and his inclusive approach to governance, saying the Governor had established “a new benchmark of governance” in Kebbi State.
Engr. Farouk also disclosed that, although the Kebbi State-owned airport remained under the ownership of the state government, efforts were ongoing to conclude the process of its takeover by the Federal Government.
He added that he had personally contributed to several projects and initiatives aimed at advancing the interests of Kebbi State, expressing his continued commitment to supporting the development of the state.
