The Kebbi State Governor, Comrade Dr. Nasir Idris, has charged members of the Kebbi State Association of Hunters to remain committed to the All Progressives Congress (APC) and vote for the party’s candidates from top to bottom in the 2027 general elections.
The Governor gave the charge on Saturday while addressing hunters drawn from the 21 Local Government Areas of the state at the Haliru Audu Stadium, Birnin Kebbi.
The gathering was organised by the hunters to endorse President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Nasir Idris for their second-term bids, as well as to reaffirm the association’s support for the APC.
Governor Idris emphasised the importance of supporting the APC, describing the party as the platform capable of transforming the fortunes of the country and improving the livelihoods of citizens.
“I am appealing to all of you to vote for Mr. President, the Kebbi State Governor, as well as all APC candidates across the board. There is improvement in the economic growth of the country. In Kebbi State, I have touched all sectors and given the people a sense of belonging,” he said.
Governor Idris further urged the hunters not to be distracted by opposition campaigns against the APC administration, stressing that the government remains committed to delivering meaningful development to the people.
Also speaking, the Nigerian Ambassador to Turkey and former Governor of Kebbi State, Alhaji Saidu Usman Nasamu Dakingari, thanked the organisers of the programme and urged the hunters to remain committed and loyal to the APC-led governments.
“I really love this gathering and appreciate the initiative. My brotherly and fatherly advice to you is that you should not allow anyone to cajole you or change your mind to vote for another political party. The only party that can take you to the Promised Land is the APC. Honestly, the APC in the state has changed the narrative by executing meaningful projects that have a direct bearing on the lives of the people,” he said.
Earlier, the Member representing Birnin Kebbi North in the Kebbi State House of Assembly and Patron of the Hunters Association, Hon. Babangida Aminu Guluma, expressed satisfaction with the large turnout at the gathering and assured the Governor of the association’s continued support for him and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Speaking at the event, the Special Adviser to the Kebbi State Governor on Power and Political Matters, Alhaji Kabir Sani-Giant, appealed to members of the association to work hard and mobilise support to ensure the victory of the APC in the 2027 general elections.
In his remarks, the State Chairman of the Hunters Association, Alhaji Bashir Muge, thanked Governor Nasir Idris for his support to the association and assured him that its members remain firmly behind him and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
“We have no other party than the APC. We have already endorsed you and Mr. President. We pray that Almighty Allah SWT will guide you and protect you from your enemies,” he said.
