The Governor of Cross River State, Senator Prince Bassey Edet Otu has charged on the Muslims community in all crannies of the state to be vigilant against bad elements seeking to infiltrate their ranks to cause trouble and disharmony.

The Governor made the call yesterday when he received the Leadership and members of the Cross River State Hausa Fulani and Muslims Community Support Group for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Prince Bassey Otu Re-election 2027 in his office on a courtesy visit

The governor stressed that meaningful development can only thrive in an atmosphere free of crisis. He urged members of the community to promptly report any suspicious persons to the appropriate security authorities.

Describing the visit as "timely," the Governor noted that with electioneering activities approaching, the community must participate actively in the electoral process to ensure victory for the *All Progressives Congress, APC* in 2027.

He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to an inclusive government where every community, regardless of tribe or religion, has a sense of belonging.

Earlier in his keynote address, the Director General of the Support Group, Alhaji Nasiru Baba Gombe who also diunles as Special Assistant to the Governor on Livestock Ranching, assured the Governor of the group’s total support.

Alhaji Gombe said the group is 100 percent behind the Governor and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and is ready to deliver their votes in 2027.

He informed the Governor of the group’s plan to embark on sensitization visits to Muslim communities across the 18 Local Government Areas to mobilize voters for the re-election of both leaders.

The DG also thanked His Excellency for his appointment and for the constant support and involvement of the state government in the affairs of the Muslim community.

In his remarks, the Deputy Director General of the Group, Alhaji Ado Inuwa Bayaro commended the Governor for his good work and for hosting the delegation.

He appealed to His Excellency to sponsor more Muslims on pilgrimage to Makkah and Medina, noting that no one from the state benefited from the state sponsorship in this year’s Hajj.
