Saviour Asuquo Special Assistant to the Governor on Content Development, observed that the trend of views according to him there
“ is a growing view in Cross River State that much of the criticism directed at Governor Bassey Otu is not about governance, but about access.’
Comrade Asuquo said ‘According to political observers: "People don't criticize Governor Bassey Otu because he isn't doing well. They criticize him to get his attention for a political appointment."
Further mentioned that the comment reflects a common sentiment that, for some critics, public condemnation has become a strategy to be noticed by the administration. Rather than an indictment of performance, the attacks are seen as a way to lobby for recognition, patronage, or a seat at the table.
