Pipeline Greenfield Projects: NSDC to Deliver 800, 000 MT of Sugar Annually, Save $2.1b Foreign exchange, Create 110,000 Jobs -- NSDC Boss

The National Sugar Development Council (NSDC) has assured to deliver over 835,000 metric tonnes(MT) of sugar annually under its pipeline of 10 greenfield projects. According to the Council, the projects when fully operating, will raise Nigeria's annual sugar production beyond 2 million MT and save about $2.1billion of foreign exchange every year.

The Executive Secretary of the National Sugar Development Council (NSDC),Mr Kamar Bakrin has observed that Nigeria’s factories pay two to ten times more than competitors for power, credit and logistics. This was contained in a statement issued to Global Newsday in Abuja said Mr Bakrin made the observation while presented his paper title "Industrial Competitiveness and Productivity Enhancement" during 17th National Council on Industry, Trade and Investment (NCITI) meeting held in Enugu.
